Instrument Technician

Core Responsibilities:

  • Participate, support, and maintain compliance to the company’s Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems, policies, procedures, safety programs, and activities as defined within the company’s published management system documentation.
  • Locating and diagnosing the cause of malfunction or failure of analysers/Sensors and performing the necessary preventive or corrective maintenance.
  • Interfacing with site operators, engineers and maintenance personnel.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing existing equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting wire diagrams, & prints.
  • Working with testing equipment and software programs to perform calibrations and testing.
  • A good foundation in basic mechanical and shop skills such as general maintenance…etc.
  • Ensuring applicable maintenance targets and schedules are achieved.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records and logs, detailing work order findings in ERP System.
  • Assisting in the management of any emergency situation which may arise offshore.
  • Environmental sample collection and reporting

 

Qualifications for instrument technician

  • Two years of experience or more.
  • University qualifications in instrumentation engineering or relevant fields.
  • Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals blueprints and control system drawings.
  • Ability to operate Company vehicles and equipment.
  • Must be prepared to work irregular or rotating shifts and respond to emergency callout 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Driving License.

Environmental Specialist

Core Responsibilities:

  • Write reports related to Environmental Impact Assessments, Construction Environmental Management Plans and Environmental Site Assessments phase I and Il; Represent the company at any client working site on a full-time basis if required;
  • adhere to GEESC Quality Management System requirements and actively participate in the development and upgrade of the system;
  • Setting up and conducting Environmental inspection plans, systems and reports if required;
  • Develop relevant Construction Environmental Management Plans and Operation Environmental Management Plans;
  • Conduct GHG emissions calculations, carbon foot printing and other CDM projects;
  • Conduct Air Quality modelling studies;
  • All required calculations for assessment and prediction of environmental impacts and comparison between project’s alternatives;
  • Professional liaison with clients, government offices and associate companies;
  • Environmental significance ranking based on likelihood & severity matrix as per international guidelines.
  • Conduct complete project budget analysis and costing for tenders
  • Train other team members on all required environmental tasks
  • Carry out emission study for Flare Emissions/Stack emissions/Venting/ Burn pits
  • Material balance/Mass balance/water balance Calculations
  • Noise modelling based on source receptor sound pressure levels and noise barriers
  • ETV/ STP/WWI effluent water calculations and analysis

  • Conduct Emission Inventory Studies for point source and fugitive emissions

  • Conduct HAZID, HAZOP, ENVID, SIMOPS workshops
  • All types of GIS analysis (Buffer Analysis, Area, length, volume), geo-referencing, import, export, transformation of vector formats using advanced GIS software like Global Mapper, MapInfo, AutoCAD, QGIS, Micro station

  • Manage Environmental monitoring activities (water, soil and air), as well as preparation of monitoring reports

 

Knowledge and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering
  • M.Sc in Environmental Engineering is preferred
  • More than 5-7 years of experience in environment engineering role in a large organization
  • Written and Spoken English is essential

 

Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Work (office): 70%
  • Work (site): 30%
  • Occasional mobile communication (with superiors, subordinates, contractors, clients, etc…) while being outside office and on site visits
